29 January 2026

On the morning of Thursday, 29 January 2026, the Peruvian Episcopal Conference met with representatives of the Dicastery for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments on the occasion of their “ad limina Apostolorum” visit. The fraternal dialogue focused primarily on the theme of the translation of liturgical books, the relationship between popular piety and the liturgy, as well as the importance of ongoing formation for lay faithful and priests. The bishops of the Episcopal Conference also wished to examine more specific issues, such as the phenomenon of religious syncretism, the process of discernment regarding liturgical adaptations, and ritual practices linked to the catechumenate.
