Ad Limina Visit of the Episcopal Conference of Uganda

On the morning of March 18, 2026, the Episcopal Conference of Uganda paid an “ad limina Apostolorum” visit. After a general presentation of the sacramental life in the Ugandan Church, the Bishops wished to share with the Dicastery some particular experiences, including:

• the role of the instituted catechist within the Christian community;
• liturgical inculturation and the risk of religious syncretism;
• the translation and adaptation of liturgical texts and rites into various minority languages;
• the need for ongoing liturgical formation.

The Dicastery received with particular interest the report on the celebration of the Sacrament of Marriage and the assistance that various parish communities provide in the preparation for and during the celebration of the rite.
