Second Archdiocesan Meeting for Pastoral Liturgy in Braga

On Saturday, 24 January 2026, the Archdiocese of Braga hosted the II Encontro Arquidiocesano de Pastoral Litúrgica, a session of advanced formation involving various liturgical ministries and services of the local Church. The event focused on active participation as a synodal journey.

The keynote speaker of the meeting was the Undersecretary of the Dicastery for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, Bishop Aurelio García Macías, who delivered a lecture entitled: “Participar con Creatividad”.

In his address, the Undersecretary explored the balance between fidelity and innovation, emphasizing that creativity in the liturgy is not improvisation, but rather a tool to foster the full participation of the faithful while respecting the Rites of the Church. Furthermore, he led a workshop for the clergy entitled “Presidir con fidelidad creativa”, providing theological and pastoral criteria for the ars celebrandi.
