On Monday, 8 January 2024, an important meeting was held at the offices of our Dicastery with the Executive Officiers of the Brazilian Bishops' Conference (CNBB), on the occasion of their annual visit the various dicasteries of the Roman Curia.
Several important topics were discussed during the meeting, first and foremost the presentation of the new translation of the Roman Missal for Brazil; the new text received an excellent reception, highlighted by the organisation of numerous promotional events.
Another highlight was the imminent announcement of the publication of the Order for the Institution of Catechists in Brazil, an important tool to clarify the profile and role of catechists, to offer them adequate training courses, and to form communities to understand their service.
The discussion also touched on issues relating to the translation of the Lectionary and the Liturgy of the Hours.
The National Eucharistic Congress was lived as a moment of communion and reflection for the entire Brazilian Church.
The challenges of liturgical life in the Amazon were also examined and the importance of online liturgical formation, involving both priests and laity, was emphasised.
These themes reflect the ongoing efforts to enrich and enhance liturgical life in the Church in Brazil, reflecting the diversity and richness of the faith.
